Love & Romance

Now, before I begin this page, please, please keep in mind that this is purely opinion based, with a few factual things to support them. If you cannot deal with me being against Kratos with Raine (or anyone except for Anna for that matter), I suggest you leave this page now. If you do not care, or have an open mind, feel free to keep reading.

Also, the main point and reoccurring theme of this page is that Kratos is not, and never will be interested in finding someone else. He has made it obvious that he is devoted to Anna. This comes from two standpoints in my opinion; the first and strongest being that she had the power to change him. Anna opened his eyes and heart. She loved him, which was probably not something he was used to traveling with the other three Seraphim previously. It is hard to let someone go who has that much power over your heart. Secondly, the fact that Kratos killed her seals that he will never be able to move on. This factor is not as powerful as the first, but still bears an incredible amount of weight on him. He carries so much grief, guilt and anger at himself and Kvar that he cannot just forget about her. Kratos loves Anna very much, and he always will.

Which brings me to the next item on the agenda. The main "love interest" Kratos seems to have been given by the fans is Raine. From what I've gathered from reading and observing, people put them together because they are logical, mature and older than the others in the group. There are, however, many faults to this pairing, the major one of course being that Kratos is in love with Anna. Even if Kratos was not still in love with her, there would still be the problem that Raine does not trust Kratos for majority of the game, and when he betrays them, it just worsens the condition. Not to mention they are both very reserved and keep to themselves too much to ever really form a close bond over that distrust, even if they actually had the time frame to do so. It may be a "fun" or even "crack" pairing, but there is just no possibility of the two of them being able to work out together as a couple.

This goes for all the pairings as well, not just them. I only addressed them because they seem to be the most popular among the Symphonia fans. Kratos has already met his true love, and he is just accepting and dealing with the fact their relationship could not go according to plan time wise. Kratos is now focused on helping his son and in a way, trying to atone for what he has done by ridding the world of Exspheres and Mithos' ideals. Kratos' heart will forever stay where it is and not open it's doors to anyone except for the woman who he still loves.
